Their rear sprockets are all CNC machined from start to finish, from aero-space quality 7075-T6 plate aluminum alloy. CNC machining their sprockets ensures sprocket concentricity, minimizing chain stretch and maximizing sprocket life. PMP uses the latest in CAD/CAM technology to lighten all of their sprockets as much as possible and still retain their strength. They offer in-house color and HardKoat anodizing, so the color you want doesnt affect their quick turn-around. They offer tooth sizes, colors, and applications you won't find anywhere else! less

When PMP sent sprockets out for use to test I was a little leery. After all I was just coming back from injury - caused by failure of the last drive system we had on the 450F.
The first thing I noticed was the radiant blue - they really stand out and look trick. Then when I picked up the set of three I was very surprised how light the sprockets were. PMP forges sprockets out of 7075-T6 plate aluminum alloy. T6 temper 7075 has an ultimate tensile strength of 74 - 78,000 psi (510 - 538 MPa) and yield strength of at least 63 - 69,000 psi (434-476 MPa). In short it is the strongest form of aluminum alloy you can get.

Thoughts? You probably won't notice the weight difference from the stocker but any reduction in sprung weight is a great thing. The PMP Sprocket definitely competes with the top sprocket companies out there in terms of wear - we've had several rides and not only are the teeth still intact but so is the coloring. The blue looks flat out awesome. The PMP sprockets would have gotten 5 starts but they really need to be making counter shaft sprockets as well - we all change the whole set but we don't like to mix and match. It might seem crazy to some but if you don't have matching components even the smallest differences can create additional wear. Just like a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link - so is your drive system. Oh and don't forget about price - I forgot to mention PMP Sprockets are significantly less expensive than the competition so definitely get a few rears and find what gearing works best at each of your tracks.
